Preferences
Customizing Images:

Click File → Preferences

On the left under Layout, select the default image.

This image can be given a name and changed to whatever you want. Just change the Image Path. The Image Table is any one-word name (with some exceptions) given to a table on the database. Anyone using the database that uses that word as the image table for an image will be able to see the exact same sector positions as you. The default image table name is “sectorpositions.”

To add a new image, click Layout on the left, and at the bottom of the page, select Add New Image. You will be taken to a page where you can customize a new image.
Customizing Layouts:

A layout is any group of pictures that you have collected and are using.

To customize the layout click File → Preferences
-
On the left click Layout.
-
You will first see an Add New Layout button which can be used to create a new layout.

Next will be a list of available layouts. You may have more layout files on your machine, but they haven't been detected or imported by Lab Sort.

With a layout selected, you can apply it, change its name, or delete it.
Changing Themes:

Click File → Preferences
-
On the left click Theme.
-
Choose the theme that you want to use.
Changing Screen Modes:

Click File → Preferences
-
On the left click General.
-
Under Screen Mode choose the option that best suits your screen. If you are using a laptop, the Small Screen mode may be best.
Changing Font sizes:

Click File → Preferences
-
On the left click General.
-
Under Font Size choose the font size that best helps you read.

Altering the sectors
Create a new sector:

On an image tab, select the Edit button.

On the right side of your screen, select New Sector.

Give the sector a one-word name (a-z) and press CREATE SECTOR.

Use the right-mouse-button to drag a new sector on the image.
Edit the position of a sector:

On an image tab, select the Edit button.
-
Hover the cursor over any sector.

You can move the sector by dragging it with the cursor, or you can drag the edges to resize the sector.
Delete a sector:

On an image tab, select the Edit button.

On the right side of your screen, select Delete Sector.
-
Type the name of the sector to delete and select DELETE SECTOR.

Items
Add an item:
-
Click Add New Item.
-
Type in the name of the item
-
Type in a number to associate with this item (can be a bar code)

Type in a sector to put this item in.

Type in a quantity for the item
-
Click ADD.
Update an item:
-
Click Update Item.
-
Type in the name of the item
-
Type in the number associated with this item (can be a bar code)

Type in a sector to move this item from.

Type in a sector to move this item to.
-
Type the quantity of the item to move.
-
Click UPDATE.
Find an item:
-
Click Find Item.
-
Select what method you will be using to search for the item (by name, number, or sector)

Type in the name, number, or sector for the item.

Click SEARCH.
Delete an item:
-
Click Edit → Delete Item From Database.

Either enter the item information at the top of the page or manually select the items to delete below, including the quantity to delete.

Click DELETE SELECTED at the bottom of the page.
